Misguided Criticism
After testing this during intense days at school (stylist studies), I can only say: WOW. Here’s why I love it, and why I think some criticism against it is misguided. Performance under pressure 🛠️ I used this yesterday during a blowout session. I was standing, working with the hairdryer, and sweating heavily, but the base stayed put! Nothing became "patchy" or blotchy. It really holds the base together in an impressive way. Setting spray vs. eye makeup 🎨 I often see criticism that it doesn’t "set" eyeshadow or eyeliner well enough, but honestly: • The right tool for the right job: Eye makeup is best set with eyeshadow primer, glue, or powder. • Pro tip: If you look at licensed MUAs, you often see they cover the eyes when spraying. Testing a spray based on how well the eyeliner holds isn’t, in my opinion, fair. For me, it’s enough that it fixes the base! Tell me please if I’m wrong! User experience • The spray: The spray function itself is absolutely magical! It’s such a fine mist, not those big drops you can get from other bottles. • The feel: The scent is just right (not too strong) and it feels incredibly refreshing on the face. All products have varying price ranges, but most are budget makeup brands that LYKO often has discounts on, HOW GOOD!!😍 This makeup has been on since 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, would you have ever believed that? I guess not!😍 Here below you see my routine step by step: 1. Moisturize the skin with Nivea cream 2. Fix the eyebrows with nyx Pencil and Got2b 3. Primer on the face from fenty beauty 4. CC cream from lumene (mixing two colors) 5. Cream bronzer from Caia or Anastasia cream bronzer or fenty cream bronzer 6. Cream blush hickap, Morphe, or another brand. 7. Concealer under the eyes, nose, chin, jaw. Concealer is from Caia or maybline. 8. Powder from Hudabeauty (Poundcake), lumene has good alternatives. 9. Powder bronzer from fenty 10. Powder blush (whichever), but I’ll link one. 11. Setting spray, Caia and hickap 12. Mascara Maybeline 13. Lashes depend 14. Eyeshadow with bronzer or nux palette 15. Setting spray 16. Lip stain nyx 17. Lips as linked 18. I have dry skin and I really love the By Lyko On the Glow Setting Spray! It gives a fresh and hydrated glow finish that makes my makeup look alive and fresh all day. The spray blends the makeup so nicely. And for the price, I think it delivers really well. 🌸🤌🏼 The spray feels super light on the skin, never gets sticky or heavy, and the fine mist spray gives the skin a nice, “dewy” look that is perfect when you want to avoid that dry feeling. I also like that it works both over makeup and directly on the skin as a little moisture boost during the day. Perfect for us with dry and matte skin who want some glow! ✨💧 The scent doesn’t bother me, but I still want to point out that it has perfume in it. It has a mild lotus scent that disappears quickly. I think this is quite similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills setting Spray “dewy set”. I have now tested this wonderful setting spray for a few days and I am OBSESSED🤩 I think this is a wonderful setting spray that hydrates the skin and gives an incredibly nice glow throughout the day. I personally have oily skin and easily get oily around the T-zone, but I really think this maintains the glow throughout the day without looking too oily. 👏🏼 ➕ Gives a nice natural glow that makes the makeup look fresh all day ➕ The product contains niacinamide, which contributes to hydration ➕ Fragrance-free and vegan 🌱 ➖ I find that it takes a little longer to dry and sink in.
