Glow and Firmness for Dry, Dehydrated Skin with Inactive Eczema
I have been so lucky to test Dermalogica BioLumin-C Serum 30ml😍 I have been using it for almost 3 weeks, about 2-3 times a week, and my dry and dehydrated skin with inactive eczema tolerated it well. Fortunately, it does not trigger eczema. I use the serum in the morning after cleansing and always follow up with sunscreen. The skin feels firmer and gets a nice glow after application, and I like that the serum has a slightly thick consistency that glides easily into the skin. A small downside for me is that the serum contains fragrance and smells like orange. I prefer fragrance-free products, as I have previously experienced that eczema is triggered by fragrance (which has not happened with this one). The product is described as a highly concentrated serum that works with the skin’s natural defenses, gives glow, firmness, and a more even skin tone, and combines ultra-stable vitamin C with peptides and cell-renewing AHA. For me, it works as promised; the skin looks fresher and more radiant. Unfortunately, the price level is quite steep, so I will not be buying it on my own right now, but if the price were a bit lower, I would definitely consider having the serum as a regular part of my routine. I have been so lucky to receive Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant 13😍 I have been using the product for almost 3 weeks now, 2-3 times a week, and I am really satisfied! I have dry and dehydrated skin with inactive eczema, so I have to be careful with exfoliation. The powder is mixed with a little water and rubbed between the hands until it becomes a light foaming paste, which I then massage onto my face in circular motions (for about 1 minute) before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water. I use it on clean skin in the evening, right after cleansing with Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, and my skin feels super soft and smooth, while my eczema does not get irritated. A small downside is that you have to mix the powder with water yourself, which makes the skincare routine a bit longer. But the upside of this is that it lasts longer in use. The product description states that the rice-based enzyme powder micro-exfoliates the skin effectively, while the botanical complex contributes to a more even skin tone over time. I agree, and I think my makeup looks much nicer the day after I have used the exfoliation. All in all: a mild but effective exfoliant! I have been lucky enough to test Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel 250 ml😍 I have been using it every evening for about 14 days now, so I have a good impression of how it works on my skin. This is a soap-free gel cleanser designed to remove dirt and impurities without drying out the skin. I start by applying a little product to wet hands and work it up lightly before massaging it into a damp face for just over a minute. Then I rinse off with lukewarm/warm water. Although it is described as a foaming gel, I find it becomes more creamy than foamy when massaged in. For me, that’s fine—even though I prefer a more foamy texture. It still feels very pleasant and mild on the skin. I have dry and dehydrated skin with inactive eczema, and this cleanser works well for me. It cleanses the skin effectively without irritating or triggering the eczema, which is very important for my skin type. After cleansing, the skin still feels a bit tight, which is not unusual for my skin type, so I need to apply a good hydrating product fairly quickly afterward. The product is also very economical to use, and you only need a small amount each time. Therefore, I think the price is good considering how long the bottle will last. The only small downside for me is the scent. I prefer fragrance-free skincare products, and this one has a scent I’m personally not so fond of. It also promises to even out skin tone by counteracting uneven pigmentation that can come from, for example, sun damage, pollution, stress, etc. Additionally, it should also help make the skin surface smoother and more elastic. MY SKIN TYPE: Sensitive Surface dry Reactive skin with a tendency to imbalance Unfortunately, my skin is not the easiest; it has become very sensitive over the past year after having been more tolerant before. That means this product is too strong for me right now. Will I get rid of it? ABSOLUTELY NOT! This will be what I use as soon as I have a stable base again, but right now my skin reacts to everything that actually makes a difference in the long run. One of the key ingredients in this is Ascorbic Acid, which is pure vitamin C, the most effective form. On more tolerant skin, it would give a clearer and faster result than other vitamin C serums that contain less effective variants. I really wanted to love this because vitamin C is an ingredient I actually miss in my routine – especially now as I approach 30 and want to work more preventively against aging. But my skin is currently sensitive and surface dry, and here I notice that this type of active vitamin C can be a bit too much, especially on dry areas like the nose. However, unlike other vitamin C serums, my skin did not react as strongly as it otherwise can, which makes me really believe that I will be able to use it in the long run. It also gave an incredible glow and sat very nicely under makeup! Is it a bad product, you might wonder? Absolutely not, this is a bottle that gives you exactly what you are looking for in a vitamin C serum, but right now it does not work for my skin. I started with Estée Lauder primer – it makes the skin smooth and helps the makeup last better throughout the day🔥(I have the old packaging) Then I used Maybelline New York Honey 04 as both foundation and concealer – it provides just the right coverage and quickly evens out the skin.🤩 After that, I set everything with LUMENE Corrector Powder No. 1 – a light powder that mattifies and helps the base last longer.✨ I also tried got2b Brow Gel – excuse me?? It really keeps the brows in place ?!?! I didn’t think it would be that good?!?! It’s definitely a new favorite🙌🏼 As a final step, I used Hickap bronzer in the shade Champagne – it gives a nice, warm glow and a bit of a sun-kissed feel.☀️ I also use essence lip oil. A very nice brand. So I thought I’d be rude and mostly focus on the negative bits of the products. If they have any.. 🫠 Their micro foliant is one of the best-selling in the world - it’s claimed.. Whether that’s true, I don’t know, but it’s really good. It’s the reason I’ve now tried a few more products from them. The micro foliant is effective and leaves your skin not just glowing but also soft like baby skin. You get the urge to caress your cheeks, and the thought quickly becomes that you wish you had at least one equally good product that gave the same effect to your whole body. Night restore, on the other hand. Here it’s not the product itself but the pipette. It sucks up the product well, but it’s hard to get it out again. You’re only supposed to have a single drop at a time, but it’s a bit tricky to get the drops out. A slightly oily consistency of the product. The positive is that you won’t "waste" it. Not a product where you accidentally get way too much and don’t know where to put the overflow. The scent of the skin recovery product doesn’t appeal to me. I think it’s some kind of floral scent. I find it a bit too sharp and it reminds me more of hocus pocus creams than a day cream. That said, I’m not here to complain about the products’ function. This is truly a big favorite! I've been using it for several years and always come back to it. It feels incredibly lovely on the skin, makes it soft and really hydrated without feeling heavy or clogging the pores. I also have slightly dry acne-prone skin, was initially worried that it would make my pores worse, but on the contrary, my skin has become smoother and better since I started using it. Tips tips tips if you're looking for a new exfoliator! I've been using this for about 2 months now and it's fantastic! It may not look like much, but it gets the job done. I usually take some powder in my palm and a few drops of water to then massage the product into my hands until all the little grains are completely gone. Then I massage it into my face and rinse it off. My skin feels brand new afterwards!! I also like that you can use it often, I use it about 3 times a week, which my skin has appreciated. This is the first exfoliator that I find actually does its job without damaging the skin barrier!
