If your goal is achieving defined, frizz-free curls, then rubbing your hair dry with a towel is a definite no-no. It breaks up the curls and roughens the cuticles. Use:
Dispense an amount the size of an apple into your palm and divide it between your hands. Apply to the hair, distributing it evenly over all of the hair. Apply extra mousse at the roots for more volume. Dry the hair using a diffuser or allow to dry naturally.
Step 1: Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. Detangle, if necessary, with a wide-toothed comb, either before washing or while conditioner is still in the hair.

Step 2: Rinse hair thoroughly then squeeze excess water out with your hands. Add the styling product of your choice.
